Minutes of Wealth

Another beautiful day in the French Alps, it started so nicely but ended up as a day full of wrong decisions and mistakes.
It eventually lead to missing a fantastic sunset at Lac Guichard, the location we had planned to shoot sunset at. We ended up missing the best sunset of our whole trip only by 15 min! However I still liked the blue hour mood we got later, therefore and for the funny story I wanted to share this shot with you.

And here is how we messed it up:
First we went to an outdoor clothes store to buy gloves for the upcoming cold nights because we both left our gloves at home. We wasted half an hour realizing that all available gloves were not fitting our fairly big hands, we only bought (unnecessary) additional fancy tent pegs.
Second we made a wrong turn after shopping and went straight onto a toll road and even drove into the wrong direction. And last we missed a couple of gas stations where we could have fuelled up the car and eventually realized to fuel up only when the last gas station was left already 10km behind us and worrying that there were no more to come before arriving at our destination. Actually there was one only 5 km ahead of the point where we returned back to the last one.
If we would have only made one mistake less we could have been in time for that sunset. I still blame the massive sun exposure for making all those unnecessary and rather stupid mistakes! Sometimes arriving at the right place at the right time is working like a charm and other times it can be an eternal struggle

In the end we could at least witness a beautiful blue hour and went swimming in the lake which was a real treat after sweating all day long in temperatures of around 30°C and above.
